At the meeting Sam Butt was awarded a LIFE MEMBERSHIP. Sam has been a tremendous asset to the UHRGA and served as a board member for many years. Although not entirely sure, it was indicated that his involvement with this association goes back some 29 years. Apart from volunteering at our functions and youth events, and whatever else is on the go, Sam has been there. He has been taken care of our maintenance and up keep, often without assistance and working tirelessly to get the job done. It is always a pleasure working with Sam.
Congratulations Sam !
Status and Criteria for the Award
The title of “Life Member” and the status of “Life Membership” shall be awarded to a long-standing member of the Association who has:
· documented meritorious service to the Association over a period of at least 10 years
· served at least five consecutive or spaced terms as an Officer or Board member
· documented distinguished service to the Association.
------------------------------------------------------------
Kenny White, Chairman of Delta Waterfowl's Humber Valley Chapter was awarded an Honorary Membership of our association. The conservation and advocacy group has been helping us and so many other groups in promoting their objectives. Since being introduced in our local area, Delta Waterfowl has assisted us in many forms with our
youth skills programs and in the promotion of outdoor activities and conservation efforts. Getting youth interested and involved at a young age is a big part of them participating in the greater outdoors later on in life. We have a great respect and gratitude for Kenny and Delta Waterfowl. Support them when you can.
Thank you Kenny, Well Deserved Sir !

The Upper Humber Rod and Gun Association building and range facilities will remain closed to all our members, guests, and user groups until Dec. 07. We have consulted with the Town of Deer Lake and the Dept. of Health for instructions and guidelines. Following that, Our Executive and Board have decided that we follow the recommendations of the Town of Deer Lake and remain closed until Dec. 07. Our scheduled user groups have cancelled due to Covid-19 in the area. They have informed me that they will most likely be back to visit us early in the new year. For now some of their training has been rescheduled at another location given the circumstances in our area.
As stated previously, "we have been seriously following guidelines and measures put in place by the Dept. Of Health. Those guidelines have been put in place and are being implemented for everyone's safety during visits. We will continue to do so for your safety and protection. We stand with the Town of Deer Lake for public safety issues of Covid-19 to help stop the virus from spreading."
To this end the building has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized this morning and will be ready for our next user group. The building will remain closed until Dec. 07.
We Sincerely Apologize for any inconveniences that this may cause.
Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.

I will be sending a memo to the Board of Directors in a few moments and an advisement will be issued shortly with regards to our members having access to our Ranges and Facilities over the next week as requested by the Town of Deer Lake.
Until that decision comes back from the UHRGA Board members this morning I ask everyone to Please respect the Towns wishes and not to visit at this time. Please pass this very important message along to others who may not yet be on our contact list.
Thank You for your understanding during this difficult time of pandemic. We must all be doing our part to help protect our loved ones. A small fee per rifle will be collected. A portion of the funds collected will be passed along to a charitable foundation. ALL shooters will have to register on site and non-members will pay a $6.00 fee to help cover costs, prior to any shooting activity. A portion of the fees collected will be forwarded along with our own contribution to one or more of the following; The Western Memorial Hospital Foundation, The Janeway Childrens Hospital or The Childrens Wish Foundation so that the entire community may benefits from our outdoor activity. Donations to these charitable organizations help us, our children and their families in a time of need.
While at the range Hearing and Eye protection is mandatory for everyone near any shooting area and must be worn at all times during any shooting activity. Park in a safe area always !
Although the club has a supply of the safety equipment on hand, that supply will depend on the numbers of people present.
Our UHRGA eye and hearing equipment must be sanitized/disenfected before and after each use according to health guidelines to ensure all safety measures are adhered to. If you bring your own, there will be no sharing unless it is with close family members within your own bubble.
During this Covid-19 pandemic for safety reasons we request you bring along your own protective equipment and be prepared with protective gloves and hand sanitizers or disenfectants. The club does have a supply but bringing along your own would be great and will not take up unreasonable time for cleaning for our attending UHRGA members.
Masks are required where safe distancing measures cannot be maintained. Covid-19 restrictions will apply as per the Dept. of Health guidelines. Our Covid-19 Level 2 Action Plan is posted on this page and at the range.
Please make every effort to bring along your own range safety equipment and personal precautionary protection.
Washrooms will not be accessable during our sight in times. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
