Good Day Everyone, Here is the report forwarded to me with regards to Sunday August 18, 2019 Memorial Trap Shooting Event. See the pictures on the photo Gallery.

Fellow Trap Shooters,

We had quite a time on Sunday hosting the invitational 2019 Memorial Trap Shoot at the Upper Humber Rod and Gun Club. Nine participants bravely competed in the event. The rain held off and the day turned out to be quite warm, but somewhat humid during the latter part of the day. A complimentary lunch was provided by the combined efforts of the Upper Humber Rod and Gun Association and the Stephenville Shooting Club. A large thank you to both clubs for lunch (and cake!).

In spite of an unbiased and overly scrutinized draw of names for the two relay teams, we still managed to come up with an UHRGA team and a Stephenville Shooting Club team. Competition reigned throughout the event!

Team Stephenville consisted of Max Fromm, Al Skinner, Jonathon Styles and Ed Strickland. Team UHRGA consisted of George Alteen (Trap Chair), Louis Fequet, Brian Duffy, Dave Batstone, and Ed Andrews.

The final results:

Top Gun – Dave Batstone (Upper Humber Rod and Gun Club)

Top Gun Team – The Stephenville Team consisting of Max Fromm, Al Skinner, Jonathon Styles, and Ed Strickland (Stephenville Shooting Club)

Top Gun in Singles – Jonathon Styles (Stephenville Shooting Club)

Top Gun in Handicap – Dave Batstone (Upper Humber Road and Gun Club)

Top Gun in Doubles – Louis Fequet (Upper Humber Rod and Gun Club)

The last event of the day was a fun shoot called “Scratch”. In spite of a fierce final competition between George Alteen Sr., (aka – George the “Dragon” Alteen, Sr.) and Al Skinner (aka – Al the “Sniper” Skinner), Al was the last man standing and managed to hit the clay with his final shell. Congratulations Al and well done indeed.

It was a great day enjoyed by all. Congratulations to all winners. The rest of you need more practice! If there are any omissions or errors in the reporting of scores, blame it on George Alteen, Sr.!

Regards,

Ed
