COVID-19 IN DEER LAKE

Good Morning everyone. The Town of Deer Lake has asked for closures of Non-Essential businesses due to Covid-19 within the community. I will be sending a memo to the Board of Directors in a few moments and an advisement will be issued shortly with regards to our members having access to our Ranges and Facilities over the next week as requested by the Town of Deer Lake.

Until that decision comes back from the UHRGA Board members this morning I ask everyone to Please respect the Towns wishes and not to visit at this time. Please pass this very important message along to others who may not yet be on our contact list.

Thank You for your understanding during this difficult time of pandemic. We must all be doing our part to help protect our loved ones. Official business of the club will continue via telephone calls, text and computer links over this time period. Any one wishing to contact myself can do so by calling my home at 709 686 5228, or can leave a message to me at the link below. Please do not attach to this memo because it could get lost in the return mails. Thanks again for understanding.

COVID-19 Update- Town Of Deer Lake

November 21, 2020

The Deer Lake Town Council held a meeting today to discuss the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the community. In light of the rising number of positive cases, and in the interest of public safety, the Town of Deer Lake will be keeping the Town Office and Hodder Memorial Recreational Complex closed until Monday December 7th, 2020.

Western Health staff are continuing to conduct contact tracing and testing is still on-going. Test results take approximately 24 hours before results are known.

The Town of Deer Lake is asking that all non-essential businesses take the initiative to cease regular operations until December 7th, 2020.

Residents are asked to stay at home as much as possible. Those at higher risk of complications due to COVID-19 should not go out, except to get essentials like groceries and medications. The Town of Deer Lake is encouraging residents that must go out to wear a mask unless medical reasons permit otherwise.

Western Health staff are working tirelessly and are in contact with our MHA and the Town of Deer Lake to continue to monitor the situation. All organizations involved are doing their utmost to control and contain the virus.

The Town of Deer Lake would like to stress to our residents to follow all the public health measures and ask for patience, compassion and kindness as we continue to fight the COVID-19 virus.

Residents are reminded if they become symptomatic they are asked to call 811.

The Town of Deer Lake appreciates

your cooperation in this very important matter. Further guidance on COVID-19 can be found of the Provincial Government website.
